And last but not least parents at the age of at least 62 years old being dependent on the deceased for at least half of the deceased’s income. 2.4 Medicare Benefits Medicare is the United States federal insurance system that bring forth medical care for those who are above 65 years old and some people younger than 65 with specific disablements. The Medicare plans are divided into four parts which are hospital insurance, medical insurance, Medicare advantage plans and medical prescription drugs. Hospital insurance is given to those 65 years old and above with American citizenship or permanent residents of America. Anyone who have registered for the first part are eligible for the rest of the plans. The application to have this Medicare would be easier if the person is already obtaining Social Security retirement or disability benefits because they will reach the person few months before he or she entitled for it. However, if the person is not yet having the Social Security but already got retirement, the person should contact Social Security before 65th birthday to sign up.
